Open Session with Sr. Adv. Gopal Sankaranarayanan

Mr. Gopal Sankaranarayanan is a senior advocate at the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. He has litigated for a cleaner environment as a fundamental right. Recently designated as a senior advocate, he has appeared before the Supreme Court in a number of important cases. In the privacy case, he was relatively younger while arguing against a battery of senior advocates, SC had a special mention for him for his finesse in analysing the cross-continental constitutional position of privacy as a fundamental right. While working under the AG K.K. Venugopal, he had the opportunity to contribute to the drafting of Bhutan's Constitution.

He has completed his LL.M. in Criminology from the London School of Economics and has graduated from the NLSIU, Bangalore. Apart from being an avid writer, he is also a sports enthusiast.

The session will primarily focus on the topic- litigation as a career. The attendees shall be free to interact with and pose questions to him.

The attendees should join the meeting at least 15-mins prior to the session. It is expected that the attendees shall not cause any disturbances during the session. It is expected and required from the participants to pose only relevant queries and questions to the speaker. The audio and video of the participants should be kept switched off at all time, except when he/she has questions to pose.

No fee shall be charged from the attendees at any time for the session.
